If You Live In NoVa and You Love Quilting.....

I have never made a quilt.  I have been facinated by it for years.  I have gone to quilt shows and admired all of the beautiful, hard work.  But, now.....I have started!  I got pre-made blocks where you hand embroider and then sew it all together.  It has been a long process and I am nowhere near done!  If you love quilting then you should know about this show:

Crochet 101

I have always wanted to know how to crochet.  My Grandmother taught me when I was 9 years old.  I can't remember a thing......although it was one lesson....which brings me to this.....I signed up with Joann Fabrics for a 2 hour class in April.  Not sure why they only offer this amount of time and one class.  Hope I learn something :-)

Roasted Chick Peas

Alton Brown is hands down my favorite cook!  I tried a new recipe from him this weekend.  Roasted Chick Peas!  Really good!  I searched forever before finding dried chick peas.  Harris Teeter is the only store I was able to find them at.

I soaked the chick peas over night.

In a bowl toss with Dijon Mustard, red wine vinegar, salt and olive oil.  Then spread out on a cookie sheet.  Place in a preheated 400 degree oven for 65 minutes, tossing them every 15 minutes.
Remove when they are golden delicious like this!  If you love Chick Peas, you are sure to love this variation!
